God of Katharagama

 God Kataragama is one of the most revered and revered deities in Sri Lanka. The Ruhuna Maha Kataragama Devalaya is located in a beautiful ancient site near the Menik River on the banks of the Ruhuna River and is a place of worship throughout the year. It is noteworthy that more temples have been built in every province in the name of God Kataragama than any other deity in Sri Lanka.

God Kataragama is considered to be the ruler of the war. The god Kataragama, who married the beautiful mother Valli, lived in a monastery at Vedihitikanda in Kataragama.

The god Kataragama, popularly known as Prince Skanda, Karthikeya, Murugan, Kandasamy, etc., resides in a peacock chariot with six faces and twelve hands, blessing Sri Lanka. It is believed that the god Kataragama still resides in the 'Kebaliththa' sacred area. Kabilitta can be described as a place of worship for gods and goddesses of great power.

The belief in Kanda Deva remains unchanged not only among the Lakdiva Sinhala Tamils ​​but also among the ancient Vedda people.
