SIGIRIYA.

 

             Sigiriya means Lion Rock. This was because the entrance to the fort was built in the shape of a Lion. The ruins of that image still show a Lion's  foot on either side of the base of the stairs leading up to the palace.   

               Sigiriya may have been one of the best preserved cities in South & Southeast Asia during the first millennium. Sigiriya occupies a special place in Asian urban planning due to it's attractive environment & creative design.

Water parks.

Sigiriya is a rock outcrop with many mysteries hidden. The water parks at Sigiriya  are thought to be unique. The water flowers in this water park are still active to day. But how the water comes in is a question. At present, only a small amount at water comes from these flowers. 

Painting.

What is special about the Sigiriya murals is that they are only slightly smaller than human figures, with nude figures about the waist. Local materials were used to draw these paintings. Ingredients from the dry zone are used in color processing. It is also special that these images are created in thee dimensions.
